About the Event

Black Girls Skate is popping up in 12 cities April 24 - Aug 23 spreading our mission of visibility, safety, and equity.

We’ll be continuing our carebox initiative and meetups for skaters who identify as womxn, non-binary, trans And Black or Of Color all along the way. Boxes will include various items such as skater gear, PPE and self care products. Meetsups will be open to ALL skaters, this includes ethnicity, skill and style.

Black Girls Skate Event/Park Etiquette

1. Be kind. 

2. Respect everyone’s Pronouns!

3. Always wear appropiate PPE. (personal protective equipment i.e. helmet, facemask, mouthguard, etc.)

4. Check your ride and equipment before every skate session. (faulty hardware, improperly torqued equipment, etc. can ruin  sessions and be extremely dangerous to you and others.)

5. Heads Ups! When entering and using skateparks, look around before starting lines, or working on obstacles.

6. Always ask if someone is open to feedback, BEFORE offering advice/feedback.

7. Unless otherwise discussed, do not perform the tricks, others are working on near them.

8. Do not bully or tease others. 

9. Do not "snake" people, please wait your turn, or ask where you can join the line.

10. If you see something harmful taking place, SAY SOMETHING!
