Job Description:

The President acts as the leader of the board. The president will be responsible for:

Vice President

The Vice President of the board directly supports the president and is second in command to the President. The Vice President will be responsible for:

Treasurer

The secretary is the officer responsible for the records and correspondence of the board and in this capacity shall be responsible for:

  • Giving notice of meetings, distributing minutes, and other documents as needed.

  • Performing such duties as directed by the By-Laws and the board. 

Grievance Officer

Job Description:

The grievance officer is responsible for company grievances and reporting to the board where applicable, in this capacity a grievance officer shall be responsible for: 

  • Supporting the President.

  • Reporting and recording of grievances.

  • Give notice of receipt, summary of steps taken to investigate the grievance, a summary of findings, and any corrective actions taken to applicable parties.

  • Keeping order.

  • Performing such duties as directed by the By-Laws and the board.

Accountant 

TEAM POSITION

A BGS accountant helps the organization make critical financial decisions, and reports to the board treasurer.

Job Description:
A BGS accountant shall be responsible for: 

  • Ensuring financial accuracy throughout the year.

  • Collecting, tracking, and correcting the company's finances. 

  • Financial audits.

  • Reconciling bank statements.

  • Overseeing the preparation of the annual budget.

  • Overseeing payroll.

  • Preparing budget forecasts.

  • Processing tax payments and returns.

  • Ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations.

Grant Writer

A BGS grant writer helps the organization advance by identifying and helping the organization secure funding , equitable opportunities, in kind donations, and other resources. Reports to the Outreach Coordinator.

Job Description:

A BGS grant writer shall be responsible for:

A BGS graphic designer aids the organization in the entire process of defining requirements, visualizing, and creating graphics. (illustrations, logos, layouts, media, etc.). Chairperson of the content team and reports to the board. Will work in collaboration with board, coordinators, founder, and executive directors on design needs.

Job Description:
A BGS graphic designer shall be responsible for: 

  • Studying design briefs and determining requirements.

  • Scheduling projects and defining budget constraints.

  • Conceptualizing visuals based on requirements.

  • Preparing rough drafts and presenting ideas.

  • Developing illustrations, logos and other designs. 

  • Working with the board, coordinators and executive directors to produce final designs.

  • Testing graphics across various platforms.

  • Amending designs after feedback.

  • Ensuring final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand.

A BGS scouting agent aids the organization in finding and recruiting talent, opportunities, resources and similar. Will work collaboratively with coordinators. Reports to the Outreach Coordinator.

People Ops Coordinator

Social Media Coordinator

TEAM POSITION

A social media coordinator will aid the  organization in social media best practices. Will work collaboratively with graphic designers, coordinators, scouts, partners, sponsors, etc. Reports to graphic designer* (content team chairperson).

A BGS  social media coordinator shall be responsible for:

  • Uploading and archiving content on social media platforms.

  • Social media engagement. 

  • Planning social media events.

  • Maintaining unified organization voice across different social media channels.

  • Monitoring social media channels for industry trends.

  • Reviewing analytics and creating reports on key metrics.

  • Understanding historical, current, and future trends in the digital content and social media space.

  • Being a liaison between the organization and our social media users.

Digital Security Coordinator  

TEAM POSITION

A digital security coordinator is responsible for protecting the organization’s computer systems, digital assets, and networks. Will work collaboratively with graphic designers, coordinators, and board. Reports to the board and/or grievance officer were applicable.

Job Description:
A digital security coordinator shall be  responsible for:

  • Advisement on best practices in industry.

  • Working  with  people ops to create assets for new team members, as well as onboarding and off-boarding team members.

  • Safeguarding of clients or company data from unauthorized access, theft, and misuse.

  • Report on the organizations I.T. health.

  • Keep users updated on security measures to monitor and access the data.

  • Company advocate for training concerning company security and information safeguarding.

DEV Coordinator

Job Description:
A logistics coordinator shall be responsible for:

  • Utilizing dev and similar teams & tools to optimize procedures where applicable.

  • Reporting, documentation, and allocation of company inventory, assets, and similar.

Outreach Coordinator  

TEAM POSITION

An outreach coordinator works with the organization to aid in securing partnerships and sponsors. Will work collaboratively with graphic designers, coordinators, scouts, partners, sponsors, etc. Chairperson of the advancement team. Reports to board.

Staff Photographer Videographer

A staff photographer/videographer will work collaboratively with graphic designers,  coordinators, scouts, partners, sponsors, etc. to manage and perform photographer/videographer related  tasks at events and similar productions. Reports to graphic designer* (content team chairperson).

VOLUNTEER POSITION

An event volunteer will work directly with production or similar teams. Reports to the production intern or similar.

 

Eligibility/Requirements: 

  • 18 years or older. Younger participants can volunteer but must have consent and show up with a guardian. (Consenting guardian must fill out application)

  • Willing to provide feedback after the experience

Job Description:
An event volunteer shall be  responsible for:

  • Requesting volunteer hours be documented if needed/wanted.

  • Introducing yourself to local skaters at the park and welcoming people as they arrive.

  • Making sure there are no dangerous objects in skate areas. 

  • Making sure participants know where hydration, first aid, and other resources are located.

  • Cleaning up after the event, so event space is better than we found it.

  • Aiding with the needs of the production intern or similar.

PhotographerVideographer   

CONTRACTED POSITION

A contracted photographer/videographer will work with graphic designers, coordinators, scouts, partners, sponsors, etc. to manage and perform photographer/videographer related  tasks at events and similar productions. Reports to people ops coordinator.

BGS Affiliated Skater   

AFFILIATE POSITION

A BGS affiliated skater is a skater from our target community who is willing to donate their time and/or talent to support the mission of BGS. With support from BGS they will host events and or similar according to our organization's guidelines. Reports to production and people ops coordinators.

 

Eligibility/Requirements: 

  • 17 years or older. Younger participants:  Must have consent from a  guardian. (Consenting guardian must fill out application and interview/participate with candidate*) 

  • Willing to sign a NDA and media release waiver

  • Willing to provide feedback after the  experience

  • Have a professional headshot

  • Familiar with Google Meet, or willing to learn

Job Description:

A BGS affiliated skater shall be  responsible for:

  • Hosting pop up and similar events in their area.

  • Greeting and directing volunteers and participants.

  • Encouraging participants to leave feedback.

  • Aiding with setting up and cleaning up.

  • Recommending locations in their area to host events.

  • Aiding in fostering an environment that is on-brand.

BGS Affiliated Instructor

  • Willing to sign a NDA and media release waiver

  • Willing to provide feedback after the  experience

  • Willing to travel or capable of virtual application

  • Have a professional headshot

  • Familiar with Google Meet, or willing to learn

Job Description:
A BGS affiliated instructor/trainer shall be  responsible for:

  • Hosting training, or classes at pop ups and similar events.

  • Encouraging participants to leave feedback.

  • Aiding in fostering an environment that is on-brand.

 BGS Affiliated Partner Organization

AFFILIATE POSITION

A BGS affiliated organization is an organization who is willing to donate their time, resources, and/or talent to support the mission of BGS. They will work collaboratively with BGS to produce events or similar according to both organization's guidelines. Reports to the production coordinator.

 

Eligibility/Requirements: 

  • Familiarity with Google Meet or willingness to learn

  • Willing to sign a NDA and media release waiver

  • Willing to provide feedback after the  experience

  • Willing to travel or capable of virtual application

  • Have a professional headshot/team photo or similar

Job Description:

A BGS affiliated organization shall be  responsible for:

  • Hosting pop up and similar events in their area or through virtual application.

  • Encouraging participants to leave feedback.

  • Aiding with setting up and cleaning up.

  • Recommending locations in their area to host events.

  • Aiding in fostering an environment that is on-brand.

BGS Jr. Liaison  

OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHILDREN

A BGS Jr. Liaison will work on events or projects that support the mission of BGS. Reports to the production and people ops coordinator.

 

Eligibility/Requirements: 

  • 17 years or younger. Must have consent from a guardian. (Consenting guardian must fill out application and interview/participate with candidate*) 

  • Willing to sign a NDA and media release waiver

  • Willing to provide feedback after the experience

Job Description:
A BGS Jr. Liaison shall be responsible for:

  • Requesting volunteer hours be documented if needed/wanted.

  • Making sure participants know where hydration, first aid, and other resources are located.

  • Encouraging participants to leave feedback.

  • Willing to provide feedback after the experience.

BGS Equipment Rental Program

OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHILDREN

The BGS equipment rental program is a program to aid children in our target communities with access to skating equipment such as roller skates, helmets, ice skates, pads, longboards, tools, etc. Reports to outreach coordinator.

Eligibility/Requirements: 

  • 17 years or younger. Must have consent from a guardian. (Consenting guardian must fill out application and interview/participate with candidate*) 

  • Willing to sign a NDA and media release waiver

  • Willing to provide feedback after the experience

  • B+ average and above

BGS For Thee Culture Award

OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHILDREN

Award given to a skater exemplifying the mission of BGS.  Although open to all, applicants in our target community will be prioritized. Reports to the people ops coordinator.
